xEV batteries can be found in all shapes, sizes, and chemistries. Generally, hybrid vehicles, like the Toyota Prius, utilize Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries weighing between 50 to 100 lbs. Alternatively, fully electric vehicles tend to utilize Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) batteries, which can weigh upwards of 500 lbs each.
